The FDA is currently investigating more than 21,000 complaints against Chaz Dean, Inc. and Guthy-Renker the manufacturers of WEN Cleansing Conditioner products. Consumers claim that the hair conditioner caused hair loss, hair breakage, balding, itching and/or rashes.
Currently, the FDA has not determined a cause for the symptoms but urges anyone using WEN and experiencing those reactions to stop the product and report it to them. Physicians, dermatologists, and other healthcare providers have been notified to contact the FDA if any of their patients displayed adverse symptoms from WEN use.
Hair care products are big business bringing in $83 billion last year alone. However, no one is regulating the industry. This is why last year more than 200 people in 40 different states filed a class-action lawsuit against Chase Dean, Inc. and Guthy-Renker. Besides stating the cleansing conditioner caused hair loss and other reactions, the lawsuit alleges that the manufacturer knew about these complaints yet did nothing.
If you or a loved one used WEN and experienced hair loss, hair breakage, balding, itching or rashes, stop using the product immediately. Contact the FDA to file a report, and then call us at 877-513-9517 for a free consultation.
