Uber’s Response

According to Uber’s safety policies, any person found with a felony or violent misdemeanor conviction in the last seven years found through a mandatory background check and subsequent investigation is disqualified and cannot become a driver. Also, other violent or sexual crimes beyond the seven years  can also result in disqualification. This is only if these records are made available and reported to Uber.
The victim’s Uber driver had a harassment misdemeanor conviction from 2010. Uber never caught it.
