A middle school girl with special needs was sexually assaulted and raped on a school bus by other students. However, the bus driver didn’t intervene, nor did he report the assaults to anyone in the department of education.

Disabled Girl Assaulted
The disabled girl experienced near daily abuse last year in a Georgia school district. Since birth, the girl suffers from physical and mental disabilities since birth and has trouble interacting and communicating with others. The students took advantage of this by groping the girl’s breasts before escalating to raping the girl.
The bus is equipped with a wide-safety mirror as well as audio and video surveillance so the bus driver can monitor behavior on the bus, which is only 3 or 4 rows of seats. Yet, the driver didn’t report the assaults. Then, the boys on the bus raped the girl. The district fired the driver.
The mother discovered the abuse and took her daughter to receive medical care. A physician confirmed the rape. Now, the nonverbal daughter is experiencing severe emotional distress and is suing the school district.
