FDA Considers 5 Year Limit on Fosamax Use

This is a long time coming.

It is about time that the FDA is finally coming around to the notion that long-term use of bisphosphonates like Fosamax is just a bad idea. The simple fact is that the longer a person uses Fosamax, the greater the likelihood that he/she will suffer from a severe, disabling condition know as ONJ (literally, “Jaw Death”) or suffer from a spontaneous femur fracture. I have been involved in Fosamax litigation since 2006 and the stories of victims of this drug are just heartbreaking. The number of women who have been duped by the false epidemic of osteoporosis and harmed by this drug boggles the imagination. I am glad to see the FDA hopefully recognizing the danger of this public health disaster.
