Depakote Linked to Spina Bifida

This is Michael Brady Lynch, lead trial attorney at The Michael Brady Lynch Firm.

As early as 2006, I have been following the problems associated with Depakote and birth defects. However, a new study has radically changed the risk/benefit profile of this over-prescribed drug.

The new study, published in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, reports that children born to women who take Depakote during pregnancy have a six times greater chance of developing spina bifida and brain defects and double the chance of developing neural tube, cardiovascular or urinary tract birth defects. Spina bifida is a very serious condition requiring multiple surgical interventions.

If you or someone you know has taken Depakote and given birth to a child with spina bifida or another birth defect, please contact me directly for a free, no-obligation evaluation of your claim.
