A wife of an Alzheimer’s Disease patient witnessed a nurse abusing her husband. The nursing home did nothing to stop it.  The unnerving discovery is the nurse who abused her spouse had been a certified nursing assistant for almost 30 years.

While visiting her husband at a Vero Beach nursing home, the wife watched a video of a nursing assistant yanking her husband’s pants. Then, she began stomping on his foot. Her husband has severe Alzheimer’s Disease. When the man did not comply, she threw him to the floor and began kicking him. He began asking her to stop, but the assistant refused.
The Florida Department of Health suspended her license and now the medical assistant faces charges of battery on a person 65 years of age or older. She posted a $25,000 bond and pleaded not guilty. The nursing assistant had been employed for over 27 years.
