Introduction

According to the world, health organization, at least one in six elders experience, some form of abuse in an adult living home facility.[1]  Sometimes, adult living facilities that house elderly patients are highly understaffed. When they are understaffed, the staff is under an inordinate amount of stress due to the staff-to-patient ratio. When this happens, some of the patients can be neglected strictly due to the fact that there is not enough supporting staff to monitor all of the patients in the facility. This is known as adult living facility elder abuse.

Adult living facility elder abuse injuries

Injuries at adult living facility can range from negligence of a short staff to improper care of elderly patients. This can be seen by bedsores from a lack of being changed at proper times regularly. When this occurs, the elderly client must have somewhere to turn in for justice. Most often, the issues are not reported by the adult living facility, but rather by a family member who visit the elderly patient at the facility and notices injuries to the elderly patient.
