Pelvic Mesh Recall

1 min read

Vaginal mesh products were initially combined into several MDLs, but as of late 2022 the MDL has closed and most of the cases have been settled or dismissed. However, there are still avenues where an injured party can bring their suit against Ethicon and other manufacturers of Pelvic meshes. [1]

Recently, on February 15, 2023, it was announced that there was a 10-million-dollar settlement with Ethicon for pelvic mesh surgical devices. They have agreed to settle allegations that Ethicon has inaccurately marketed and failed to disclose risks associated with their pelvic mesh devices. Risks such as chronic pain, scarring, painful pelvic pain, and other complications were allegedly omitted from the products’ instructions for use. [2]
