Breast implants have been linked to a rare form of cancer known as Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL).

What is BIA-ALCL?

BIA-ALCL is a type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma that occurs in the scar tissue and fluid surrounding the implant. It is not a cancer of the breast tissue but a rare immune system cancer. Symptoms often include swelling, lumps, pain, or accumulation of fluid around the implant. [1]
