Jardiance Evidence
Scientific evidence has causally linked Fournier’s Gangrene to taking Jardiance, as well as other “SGLT2 inhibitors.” The FDA has added a warning “about the increased risk of developing Fournier gangrene, also known as necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum.”[1]
The flesh-eating bacteria of Fournier’s Gangrene causes extensive injury that can lead to lifelong damages including the inability to walk, reproduce, and may even lead to death.[2]
Criteria
To qualify for this litigation, the injured person must have been prescribed and began taking Jardiance prior to June 2018 when they made their label change.
Claims
One of the main claims against Jardiance is the failure to warn consumers about the risk of injury. The pharmaceutical company failed to disclose that Fournier’s Gangrene was a potential risk and side effect of the drug.
