About the MDL
First, the new Actos bladder cancer MDL has been formed. Christened MDL No. 2299, Actos bladder cancer cases filed in federal court will now be centralized in the Western District of Louisiana. That is exactly where I predicted the MDL to be formed back at the time of the December 1, 2011, argument before the Judicial Panel on MMulti-district litigation (JPMDL). On the state court level, several Actos bladder cancer cases have been filed in Los Angeles. A hearing is set in January to see if those cases (and future cases filed in California state court) should also be consolidated under a single judge for pre-trial proceedings.Being admitted in California, a veteran of MDL litigations and concentrating on Actos bladder cancer cases as a primary practice area, I will be very active in both litigation venues overseeing Actos bladder cancer cases.
