About Invokana

Invokana was the first in a new class of drugs for Type 2 diabetics. Researchers also pinpointed that the renal (kidney) function is paramount to the efficacy of Invokana. When a patient has impaired renal function, then their risk for Invokana cancer dramatically increases. Plus, the higher the dose of medication the more likely the patient could develop cancer. However, the evidence is not conclusive at this time. Therefore, this drug remains a huge safety concern. Many researchers are urging more studies with larger sample sizes, longer exposure duration and use of Invokana in difference ethnicities.
