Keytruda and CRS-207
Starting in June 2017 and running until 2019, six different cancer centers recruited patients for a phase II clinical trial. This involved two immunotherapy drugs: Keytruda (Pembrolizumab) and CRS-207. Researchers saw good results with both drugs in previous trials. Already FDA approved Keytruda, is a well-known immunotherapy medication for treating several types of cancer. Using Listeria bacteria, CRS-207 helps trigger an immune response to a specific tumor antigen.
In order to be for a patient to qualify for this trial, patients must already have received chemotherapy.
