Ethnic Foods Inc. of Port Washington, NY is recalling its 19-ounce package of Bhavnagri Mix snack mix. The company recalled the mix due to undeclared peanuts. Peanuts are a common allergy. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

About the Snack Mix Recall

There are multiple lots affected by the potential peanut contamination. Ethnic Foods recalled Bombay Kitchen brand Bhavnagri Mix Snack Mix products due to undeclared peanuts. Exposure could cause Anaphylaxis, a serious and potentially fatal situation, requiring immediate medical intervention.
According to the FDA, Ethnic foods initiated the recall after routine sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets (“NYSDAM”) Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by food laboratory personnel revealed that snack mixes that shouldn’t have peanuts possessed the legume.
