About Private Plane Crashes

Adventure Flying Plane 6965In 2017, private plane or general aviation activity has raised 2%. According to ABC News, there is an average of five small plane crashes each day, resulting in approximately 500 deaths annually.
Many think flying is safer than driving. For commercial planes, this can be the case. However, this isn’t the case for general aviation or private planes. Last year, almost 500 people died in private plane accidents. This could be due to pilot error, fuel shortage or bad landings. Bad landings are the most common cause of non-fatal private plane accidents. Fatality risk rises with worse the weather. If a pilot is using his instruments since he can’t see, the risk actually is greater.

Pilot Flies into Power Line Electrocutes Passengers

Firefighters arrived on the scene of a small aircraft crash near Phoenix Goodyear Airport. A passing police helicopter noticed the Cessna182 on its roof about a mile south of the airport. Initial reports indicate that the plane struck a power line before the crash. Due to the pilot’s negligence of flying too low to the high voltage lines, the pilot and his passenger died.
The Federal Aviation Administration is still investigating the crash.
