About A Private Plane Accident

family plane crashMany think flying is safer than driving. For commercial planes, this can be the case. However, this isn’t the case for general aviation or private planes. Last year, almost 500 people died in private plane accidents. This could be due to pilot error, fuel shortage or bad landings. Bad landings are the most common cause of non-fatal private plane accidents. Fatality risk rises with worse weather. If a pilot is using his instruments since he can’t see, the risk actually is greater.

Family Plane Crash

Police reported that the six-seater, single-engine Beech aircraft “failed to take off” from the airport. It hit an earth embankment. The plane almost hit a mobile home park by a few yards. Bystanders witnessed the engine separate from the passenger side of the plane. The crash happened near Le Roy Airport, which is a small, privately-owned airstrip. It is a popular destination for the overflow of Greater Rochester International Airport about 20 miles northeast. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the almost fatal crash. Speculation is a defect in the plane.
