Study Reveals Deaths of Teen Gadolinium Retention Patients

JAMA has published a study examining the effects of gadolinium retention in the pediatric brain. The study revealed the death of three teen gadolinium retention patients who participated in the study. Yet, many in the medical community still deny the existence of the disease that injures so many.

About Gadolinium

Gadolinium is a chemical element carrying the atomic number 64 and the atomic symbol Gd. JAMA published a study examining the deposition of gadolinium within the brains of three pediatric patients. One of whom was a 17-year-old male who received four gadolinium-enhanced MRIs before his death. The tissue analysis revealed he had gadolinium retained throughout his cerebellum. The highest levels were in the dentate nucleus. The dentate nucleus is a cluster of neurons in the central nervous system that links the cerebellum to the rest of the brain. However, another deceases teen gadolinium retention patient did not have gadolinium in the cerebellum just the dentate nucleus. Researchers urged the medical community to fund more research examining this possible link.
