Painful Zimmer Persona Knee Complications
Zimmer, the largest manufacturer of knee replacements in the world, recalled the Persona Trabecular Metal Tibial Plate because it is linked to a risk of loosening, which can require revision surgery.
The company also cited “radiolucent lines,” which means an x-ray has identified what may be a gap in the joint.
The recall affected 11,652 knee replacements. Among hundreds of complication reports on file with the FDA are mentions of:
- Device failure
- Radiolucent lines
- Revision surgeries
The reports indicate some patients had to undergo not just one, but two revision surgeries.
Persona Knee Replacement Recall
If you received one of these knee replacements, you may have received a recall letter in the mail or a call from your surgeon. But if you’ve suffered painful complications, you’ll also want to speak with an attorney.
An ordeal like this brings serious pain and financial costs that you don’t deserve. A knee replacement surgery is bad enough. Revision surgery means more pain and more time needed to recover when all you want to do is move on in life.
With an attorney on your side, you can seek compensation for:
- Hospital stays, surgical procedures
- Follow-up visits
- Physical rehabilitation
- Wages you lost, or will lose, due to an inability to work
- Pain and suffering
