Things are moving quickly on the Propecia lawsuit front for cases involving sexual dysfunction.
By way of background, my regular readers are aware that I lectured for The 360 Advocacy Institute on the association between Propecia and sexual dysfunction back in April of 2011. Since that time, I have following closely the science associating Propecia with the development of permanent sexual dysfunction and more recently, the ominous development of potentially deadly high-grade prostate cancer.
Well, it looks like things are ready to move forward in an MDL to consolidate federal pre-trial proceedings of all Propecia lawsuits. On December 6th an application was filed to consolidate several dozens Propecia lawsuits in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, or, in the alternative, in the U.S. District for the Western District of Washington.
Right now it appears all federally-filed lawsuits regarding Propecia are of the sexual dysfunction variety. It will be interesting to see if prostate cancer cases are likewise handled under the same MDL. I will keep my readers apprised of all developments in this regard
